Passengers : Mrs Cato, Miss M'Donaid, Messrs Bnchbolz, Neilson, Hill, Greenfield, Bete, Buckley, Kelly, Wales, and 8 steerage. 6, steamer Taiaroa, 228, Malcolm, from Ticto'n, Wellington, and bouth. Passengers: Misses Glover, Pattie, Nation. Mrs Lipscombe, Judge Broad, Dr Lemon, Messrs Cotton. Halo, Rhodes, Dixon, Herman (2), Fox, Howie, Bonner, Findlay. — cutter Planet, 12, Thome, from Motueka. SAILED. Aug. 6, steamer Charles Edward, 125, Whitwell, for West Coast. Passengers : Messrs Curtol, Burrows, Alexander, Frost, and 1 Chinaman.
The Wallace left Greymouth this morning for Westport, Karamea, and Nelson. The Murray left Greymouth this morning for Westport and Nelson. The Lyttelton left Wellington for Nelson last evening. The Charles Edward Bailed for west Coast ports this morning. The Wellington is at present trading between between Timaru and Dunedin. The Hawea arrived at Wellington this morning, and leaves for Lyttelton afc 1 p.m. The launching of the Kennedy is progressing favourably. She has been moved about 150 feet, is quite safe from the sea, and seems to have sustained little damage. An error occurred in the Grafton's advertisement in yesterday's issue. She was announced to sail for Wanganui, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Oamaru, instead of for Wellington, Lyttelton, &c The next of the Orient Line of steamers for Plymouth will be the. Potosi, which leaves Melbourne on August 24. One passenger has booked from Nelson by her. The Taiaroa left Dunedin at 3*30 p.m on Monday, and arrived at Lyttelton at. 050 a.m on Tuesday ; saiied at 7*15 p.m. same day, and reached Wellington at 1045 on "Wednesday; left at 12-15 p.m. yesterday; reached Pictou at 5 p.m., and left again at 11-15 p.m. arriving here at 7 a.m. to day. Experienced a strong S.E. wind while crossing the Straits. She sails for Tarauaki and Manukau at 6 p.m.
