This makes a total of 50 political prisoners who have been arrested. The Hinemoa is expected here tonight to take the prisoners away. The work of taking the prisoners at the rate of four each day is becoming monotonous to the Constabulary and expensive to the Government. Gisborne, Saturday. The severest shock of earthquake felt for years was experienced here about 120 this morning. It lasted for 30 seconds and -was travelling from a southerly to a northerly direction. Another shock less severe occurred 15 minutes afterwards. No damage was done. An old Wellington resident on a visit here says it was the severest shock he has felt for twenty years. Just before dusk last) evening a most brilliant meteor was observed.
