PUKE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage ol U his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreigp Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucal.v ptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the Consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it . our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament In cases of rheumatißm of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the st in. Any blistering brought on by the application ot a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, . croup, sprains, etc., the curative power bi our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former pnblicutlons in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased • The truth of our assertion in founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to .comn.on turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight'; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gnm leaves, toothing and htaling in its effects, its price beiDg twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; viaU bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER & SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878. R. LUCAS~& SON,
