CT#E VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULTJS EXTKACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage oJ U his, Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction? from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 1 4th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil round in the trade instead of our Eucab ptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many casfs directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value ns a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the b^ in. Any blistering brought cri by the application ot a medicament must increase infiammation, end it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphfberia, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power of our extract on the named diseases beinp unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An appHration of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased * The truth of our assertion is founded upon the laet that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to comn.on turpentine, its market Value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract coLsists of the evaporating particles of »he gum leaves, eootfung and btaling in its effceto, its price beh.g twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and fUgn&ture. \ SANDER & SONS, Sole Manuiftcturerß of the Eucalyptus Extract.
