PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS 6LOBTOUS EXTRACT TTN.DER the. Distinguished Patronage oi %J bis Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according: to, communication, received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 1 4th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucab ptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the. public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious.; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be oi value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the slim. Any blistering brought on by the application ot a medicament muet increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power oi our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract mußt impair the diseased * The truth of our assertion ie founded upon the fact that the oil. is a resinous product equivalent to comn on turpentine, itß market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; via.ls bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
