PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTB ACT "TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage oi XJ his Majesty ttie KiDg of. Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucal ptus Extrnrt. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences < would not be serinuß ; but ac tbe qualities of both of the products, are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oil is to be oi value bb a medicament In cages of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the B Kin. . Any blitteirinjz lbrought oh by the arplteation ot -< .medicament must increase inflHmnaation, and it is therefore evident that it cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria croup, sprain c, etc. the curative power oi our extract on the named digeaseg beinp un. questionably proved by former publication! in this paper. An application of the oi instead of our extract must impair th< diseased • The truth of our assertion is founded upoi the fact tbat the oil is a resinous produc equivalent to common turpentine^ its marke value being about three shillings one pouni weight ; our extract .consists .of the evapor ating particles of "the gum leaveß, soothinj and healing in its effects, its price bein twenty-four shillings for one pound weighi Our extract, the genuine article is only mad up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; vial bearing on the labels our trade mark an signature.
