DESKS, WORK-BOXES, DRESSING CASES, &c., At R, LUCAS & SON'S. NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYP. TUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the Distinguished "Patronage ol \J his ' Majesty the King of Italy, at Borne, according to communication received from the Consul-Generai for Italy, st Melbourne, upon instruction, from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine .often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucah ptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as tbe qualities of both of the products are in man; cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it bur duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be ol Value as a medicament in caseß of rheumatism qf secondary nature, and manifests a drawing/blistering effect upon the s_in. Any blistering brought on by tbe application of a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc., the curative power oi our extract on tbe named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil iußtead of our extract must impair the diseased • Tbe truth of our assertion ia founded upon | the fact that .the oil is a resinous product equivalent to coma on turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight • our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, eoothing and healing in its effects, its price beiDg twenty -four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, tbe genuine article is only made up in half -ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
