An information wa.3 laid yesterday against Charles Adamson for tising abusive and threatening language to his wife, the real object being to get him away from his home, where his wife is lying in a very weak state after her confinement, and he, having been in a state of intoxication for several days past, was endangering her life by his conduct. He is not yet in a fit state to appear before the Magistrate, and will not be brought up for some days. Iff the window of the local establishment of the New Zealaud Clothing Factory are to be seen a number of very neat uniforms just obtained from Dunediu for the College Cadets; They are of dark blue serge with scarlet facings, the material,- which appears to be of first class c[ualir.y, having been turned out at the Mosgiel factory. The price, we understand, namely, 35s 3d for the smallest and 45a 9d for the largest suits, is considerably below what the uniforms could have been obtained for elsewhere. The concert at Wakefleld last night;, we are informed, was a complete success, the performance being really excellent and the audience very numerous, including a large number of visitors from town. The last of the citizens' prizes, being ten special ones set apart for competition by the cadet corps, were fired for on Saturday afternoon, when there were 46 entries. The competition consisted of firing 5 rouuds each at 200 yards at a target 6ft by 2tt with a 6-inch bulls eye. The following is a list ot the prize-winners, who made their electijn from the prizes in order of merit. The name of the donor follows each prize :— Wratfc 10, a concertina, Mr Buckeriflge ; McHardy 10, photograph Nelson College, Mr P. Feeney \ G. Seymour 10, a locket, Mr Trnutvetter ; Dixon 9, tin of confectioue y, Mr Frank ; Bidwill 9, lilba of biscuits, Me Johns ; A Seymour 9, a pencil case, Mr B, C.
