Passengers : Messrs Sykes, Coleman, Slack, Bowen, and M'Donald. — steamer Kennedy, 136, Dillon, for West Coast. — steamer Charles Edward, 125, Whitwell, for Wellington. — ketch Prospect, 21, Westrupp, for Fern Town. — cutter Wave, 10, Ricketts, for Sandy Bay. 12, steamer Lady Barkly, 30, Walker, for Motueka.
The Lyttelton will probably leave Blenheim for Nelson to-day. The Kennedy left for West Coast^ports at 3 p.m. yesterday. The Ocean Bird arrived at Lyttelton from Picton yesterday morning. The ' Murray will probably leave Greymouth for Westport and Nelson to-morrow. The - is. announced to sail for Wanganui anci Wellington on Tuesday next. The/ Wellington* takes the next outward San Francisco mail, leaving here on Saturday next.W ;. ■-•-<- The Charles Edward left for Wellington at 8 o'clock laßt evening, and arrived there at 10 o'clok this morning. She leaves on the return trip this evening. The Anne Melhuish took in a quantity of ballast "yesterday to keep her stiff She will sail for Newcastle early next week. The Taiaroa steamed to tho outer anchorage at 11 a.m. yosterday, and remained there until 4 p.m., when "'.she sailed for Taranaki and Manukau, arriving at the former port this morning. Tho Wanaka leaves Wellingtou afc noon on Monday, will arrive here on Tuesday morning, and- sail for Picton, Wellington, and South by the same tide afc noon. The signal for a brig has been flying all ttie day, but as there is no vessel of that rig expected Jit present, she is supposed to be a stranger putting in here through stress of •weather, or Bhort of provisions. She had not' reached the outer anchorage when we -went* to' press. ' The Cooktown Herald says : — Mr Jack, in bis travels in the nortb, came across a large vessel here laden with cedar, thrown Upon the sands of the coast, and about 300 ■ miles to the north of this place, wbich is -.thought by many here may turu out to be ..theship' Kate Conley, which left Trinity Bay Joaded with cedar, some considerable time ago, and has never been heard of since.
