k NOTICE. | PUEE VOLAmB EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRAC^ TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage |ol U his Majesty tbe King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received frcjm the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction? from tbe Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. l We are inffirtned that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found jin the trade instead of our Eucab ptus Extract. So fsr as the committicg of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, tho consequences would not be serious ; but -as the qualities of both of the products are jin many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value us a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests ; a drawing, blistering effect upon the si in. ! Any blistering brought on by the application ot a medicament must .increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that>in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative , power pi our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased • \ The truth of oar assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil- is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evapqrating .'particles of the gum -leaves, soothing and healing, in its effects, its price beipg twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, tbe genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; vsala bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
