London, May 26. Consols, 99J. Adelaide wheat, sls, market flat; tallow is active. At the wool sales to-day, 7400 bales were offered, making a total of 289,200 catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sale is unchanged. Money Wigram's steamship Somersetshire arrived at Plymouth to-day. The homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi were delivered to-day/ May 27. The London press confirms a report which has lately been circulated to the effect that the Ameership of Afghanistan has been offered to the Afghan pretender Abdunahman Khan. The offer is said to have been made in consequence of Abdunahman's friendly relations with the British Government, and in order to conciliate the Afghans and maintain the dynasty of Dost Mahomed. Rome, May 27. The [elections to the Italian Parliament are now proceeding, and Garibaldi has chosen the opportunity to address a letter to the electors ia which he severely attacks the present dynasty, and declares that it ia ruining Italy. Hong Kong, May 26. The opening price for China teas at Foochow is two taels above last year. The quality is considered about the same as last eeason.
