May 19, steamer Lady Barkly, 30, Walker, for Moiueka. 20, steamer Wanaka, 276, M'Gillivray, from Taranaki and Manukau. Passengers: Miss Alexander, Mrs Graham, Messrs Sarsrens, Wilson, Brown, Winthrop, Chong, Hean, and Owen. — steamer Kennedy, 136, Dillon, from Wellington. Passengers: Mrs Calders and infant, Dr Hudson, Messrs Calders, Browning, Monaghan, and Constable Byrne. — steamer Wakatu, 78, Evans, from Wanganui. Passengers: Mr and Mrs Harley, Mrs Max and family, Miss Polglase, Mr Young, and 3 steerage. — ketoh Standard, 21, Ricketts, from Totaranui. SAILED. May 20, steamer Lady Barkly, 30, Walker, or Golden Bay. Captain Edwin reports at 335 p.m.: — "Bad weather approaching ; every indication of bad weather and much. rain. Likely to be much sea on the Boulder Bank." The Lady Barkly sailed for Golden Bay this afternoon. The Grafton is expected to arrive here fr,om Wellington on Saturday morning, and leave for Westport and Greymouth at 1 p.m. same day. The Wakatu arrived here from Wanganui this morning, after a stormy passage across the Straits. She returns to the same port at 2 p.na. to-morrow. The Taiaroa leaves Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Wellington, Taranaki, aud Manukau at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The Kennedy arrived here at 1-30 p.m. to-day, having left Wellington, at 930 p.m. yesterday. Strong N.W. winds with heavy sea and rain were experienced across the Straits. She sails for West Coast ports at 10 o'clock to-morning. The schooner Isabella Anderson, bound from Lyttelton to Hokitika is lying at Totaranui. Her master desires to be reported. She arrived off Hokitika last week, but was unable to enter there, and having lost all her small sails, she sought shelter at Totaranui. A topsail schooner is lying at Tonga, and another at Astrolabe, but their , names are unknown. The next steamer for Sydney will be the Tararua, leaving Auckland on Tuesday. The last opportunity of catching her will be by the Taiaroa on Saturday next. The Brisbane was towed to the outer j anchorage yesterday afternoon. She will remain there until fine weather sets in, when Bhe will sail for Timaru to load there with wheat for London. The Wanaka left Onehunga wharf on Tuesday at 1.50 p.m., but came to an anchor at the Heads till next morning, when the bar was crossed at 5.30 ; Taranaki was reached the same evening at 8 o'clock, but the weather being too stormy to admit of passengers and cargo being landed, the vessel steamed on to Nelson, and arrived here today at 1.30 p.m. Experienced strong •westerly weather with high seas throughout the passage. She sails for Picton, Wellington, and Lyttelton by the same tide. The Lyttelton, which arrived here from Blenheim yesterday affcernooa, bad an extremely rough time of it during the passage. Shortly after she came through the French Pass on Tuesday afternoon a heavy westerly gale was experienced, and which blew with such force as to set the steamer close in to the beach. It was with the utmost difficulty that she was kept off the shore, and when the Croixelles, Captain Scott, seeing a chance of entering, proceeded in there and came to an anchor for the night. On the following morning the wind having abated, the Lyttelton came on to Nelson, arriving here as above. She brings the following passengers : — Mrs Askew, Messrs M'Artney and Reid. She returns to Blenheim on Saturday morning. The tonnage loading on the berth at London on March 24th for India, China, and the Cape ot Good Hope amounted to 40,256 tons, and for Australia and New Zealand to 61,773 tons.
