PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXT&ACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage ol \J his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-Goneral for Italy, at Melbourne) upon instructions' from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 1 4th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucahptu3 Extract. So far as the committing of imposition againßt the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but rs the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorJed to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the s lj in. Any blistering brought on by the application ot a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colda, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power ol our extract on the named dieessea being unquestionably proved by forjaar publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our estract must impair the diasaßed • The truth of our assertion ia founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to comtron turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of tho evaporating pirticles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price beiDg twenty -four shillings for one pound weight Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and ono-ouncs vials ; vials bearing o:i the labels our trade mark and signature.
