PHILLIPS, FAMILY GKOOJER Corner of Bridge and Colliogwood streets. N OT ICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage ol U his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, fit Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 1 4th March, 187 S. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucal.r ptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cms directly opposed to one another. we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facta : — The eucalyptus oil is recorJed to be oi value r.B a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering tffact upon the sMn. Any Wittering brought en by the application ot a medicament must increase inflammation, aad it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc, the curative power cl our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased • The iruth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to nomnron turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, eooMring and healing in its effects, ita pries being twenty -four shillings for one pound weight Our extract, the genuine article ia only made up in half-ounce and ono-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labds our trade mark and signature.
