i London, May 10. Adelaide wheat, 525; Adelaide flour, 37s 6d; leather is steady at lljj-d per pound. At the wool sales to-day 12,100 bales -were offered making a total of 184,900 catalogued since the opening. The tone of the market was firmer, and there was a fair demand for locks and pieces. The Right Hon. W. Gladstone has written a letter to Count Karolyi, Austria-Hugarian Ambassador at London, expressing deep regret for tbe censure he (Mr Gladstone) passed upon the Foreign Policy of Austria, which was uttered in default of the assurance now received that Austria has no desire to extend her rule to the Balkans. Consols remain unshanged at 99f. New Zealand securities are at last quotations, namely, 5 per cent scrip, 103£ ; 5 per cent loan 1880, 107 ; 4§ per cent loan 1879---1904, 99£. New Zealand wheat is quoted at 42s ; Australian tallow, without quotable change.
