Are you overdrawn at your bankers, and if you are, how much, and what do interest and commission cost you? Do you pay your tradesmen's bills punctually? What is your private expenditure per annum? How many dinner parties do you give in a year? Do you ever drink champagne? Have you always business to do when you "go to market?" Do you or your sons play billiards, and how much does the amusement cost if you or they indulge in it? Do you keep hunters? Does your wife play on the piano? Do your daughters learn French? Can your wife and daughters make up the butter? Are your daughters' names inscribed on their wash tubs? Do you go to church, or to chapel? Do you vote as you please, or to please your landlord?
