London, April 28. The annual meeting of shareholders of the Orient Steamship Company was held to-day, ,yhen a dividend of 5 per cent was declared, in addition to G per cent carried to the Reserve Fund. |The Chairman made a speech, in which he stated that all the Company's steamers would shortly be fitted with cold air machinery for carrying meat as freight for all comers like ordinary cargo. He also stated that it was their intention to iacrease the capital to £1,000,000. Tho Right Hon John Bright has been appointed Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, an office which he held in the laßt Gladstone Administration. At the wool sales to-day 11,300 bales were offered, making a total of 81,500 catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sale was rather weak, and crossbred of common to medium quality were a half penny to a penny lower. April 29. Further appointments to the Ministry is announced. J. G. Dodson, President of Local Government Board, with a seat in the Cabinet; Joseph Chamberlain, President of the Board of Trade; Mr Grant Duff, Undersecretary for the Colonies; J. Mundell, VicePresident of the Committee of Council of Education; 'Sir H. James, Attorney-General; Professor Fawcett, Poßtmaster-General.
