After nine weeks' medical treatment it was declared necessary by Dr. Macgillivray to amputate the injured limb. At that juncture the tx tract was applied, and the wound speedily cured withoat amputation. The daughter of Mr Junghenn, suffering frrm dite. ise of tbe bone, as pronounced by Drs Atkinson ahd Boyd, was curei juet as speedily. Cures of wnooping cough, very severe coldp, croup, bronchitis, diptheria, earache, pain 8 in the head (neuralgia), inflammation ofthe ey-js and that of a severely injured loot ; others oi bad legs, wound on the arm with enormous swelling, ot severa bruises and a spraineJ ankle, (H. Brown), in which case eight months' medical advice wa-t of no avail, are reported by tte '• Donald Times," " Newcastle Morning Herald," " Cooktown Cornier," " Yorke's Peninsula Advertiser," and others. Tbe extract inwardly taken, regu'ates the action of the kidneys, cures dysentry and diarrhoea, and is tbe surest curative agent and preventive of contagion in scarlet, typhoid and intermittent fever.
