" Londost, April 15. Tho ship Calypso, inward bound f mm Port Chalmers, when entering the Thames yesterday, collided with the General Steam Navigation Company's steamer Hawk, and sank. The crew and passengers were savea. The Hawk proceeded on her voyage, and the extent of the injuries she received is therefore unknown. It is stated that the Hawk's lignts were not burning at the time of the collision. The homeward mail via Brindisi was delivered to-day. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £16,000,000. Sir Stafford Northcote and Lord John Manners have been decorated with the Order of the Grand Cross of Bath. It is now stated that it was the Calypso's and not (the Hawks' lights which were not burning at the time of the collision. Consols are unchanged at 97f ; 5 per cent New Zealand Loan (1880) 104§; New Zealand Loan (1879 1904) 99£ The market for breadstuff s is unchanged. Australian tallow remains at last quotation.
