The; plaintifE, a lodging-house keeper at Blackpool sought to recover £50 from a person living in Mancheaier as compensation for lossesj sustained through the introduction of an infectious disease in the house. The ju^dge was satisfied '\ : that the defendant was liable—in other L 4 .words, that he had "imported" fever into '; ': the house, to the serious loss of the plaintiff and gave judgment for £48.
