[Rbutbh's Telegrams per Peess Association."! London, April 6. Arrived—Waikato from Auckland. Messrs Money Wigram and Co'a steamship Kent arrived at Plymouth to-day from Australia. April 7. Election returns so far show that the liberals have gained 67 seats which were held last Parliament by Conservatives, fire seats having been won since the sth instant. The Liberals are, however, being less successful in the counties. Parnell, the Home Ruler who represented County Meath in the last House, has been elected for Cork. St. Petersburg, April 7. An official denial has been given to a re port which recently gained currency to the effect tbat China had- shown open hostility j towards Russia by despatching troops across ' ihe river Amoor, and that tbe latter had committed acts of aggression towards the inhabitants of Kuldga. Bombay, April 7. The reported death of Mahomed Jan, leader of the Afghan tribes at Ghuzuec, is denied. Beelin, April 6. The Federal Council has rejected Prince Bismark's Btarup duties, and in consequence of the action taken Prince Bismark has resigned. It is, however, probable that the council will reconsider its resolution.
