The returns of the elections, so far as is yet known, show that 271 Liberals and 141 Conservatives have been elected, showing a majority of 130 to the Liberals. The vtotal uumber of seats gained by the latter amounts to 59, and their majority already is sufficient to make them quite independent of the '. support of the Home Rule , Party. It is thought to be quite probable that Mr Gladstone will not accept office should the Xiberals come into power. Bombay, April 5. A report reached here from Cabul that Mahommed Jan, the leader of the Afghan tribes at Ghuznee has been killed.
