INTERCOLONIAL.
Brisbane, Wednesday. A large number of blacks made a raid yesterday upon a station near Georgetown, and drove away a large mob of cattle. Melbourne, Tuesday. The Union Company's steam ship liotomahana, grounded in the Yarra this evening but is expected to float at midnight. Wednesday. The sugar market is weak and prices are £1 per ton lower. The Rotomahana got safely out of the Yarra during the night and sailed today for New Zealand. Mr Service, the Premier, at Maldon last night expounded the Government program me. He said they would maintain their scheme of reform. They also proposed to sub-divide the Mallee country into small blocks, renting the same to the highest bidder, but agricultural areas would remain untouched, and squatters would be allowed to hold the land subject to selection. The administration announced that Civil Service reforms would be made on the basis of the reduction of the salaries of all classes of new officials. It is proposed to abolish pensions and to compel Civil servants to insure their lives. Every facility would be given to working the harbor trust, whose powers would be enlarged.
