Feb. 27, steamer Wellington, 279, Anderson, for Picton and Wellington. Passengers: Miss Packer, Mesdames Baker, Kingdon, Mackfty 2 children and servant, Smith, Mrs and Miss Renwick, Messrs Kingdon, Manton, Anderson, Bell, and 7 others. — steamer Charles Edward, 125, Whitwell, for West Coast. Passengers : Miss Taylor, Mesdames Campbell, Wilson, Fraser and child, Rev. Fraser, Messrs Campbell, Coates, Barkly, Captain Palmer, 3 steerage. Capt. R. A. Edwin reports as follows : — Bad weather approaching, any direction between north east and north west. Glass falling ; indications of rain. The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Say last night. The Graf ton is announced to sail for Wellington at 6 p.m. to-morrow. The brig Rio Loge, bound from Newcastle for Lyttelton, was spoken by the Wellington in the Straits yesterday. The Wakatu arrived here this morning from Wanganui. She returns to the same port at 7 o'clock to-night. The Tararua will be the next steamer for Sydney, leaving Auckland on Tuesday. Passengers will be forwarded to her by the Taiaroa to-morrow. The Taiaroa arrived in harbor at 7*30 a.m. to-day. She left Port Chalmers at 55 i p.m. on Monday, and arrived at Lyttelton at noon on Tuesday; sailed at 8*35 p.m., and reached Wellington at 1"25 p.m. on Wednesday; left at 415 p.m.yesterday, aud arrived at Picton at 9 p.m.; sailed at 11 10 p.m. and reached here above. Fine weather was experienced throughout the passage. The Taiaroa brings the Tararua's mails which were forwarded to Lytteltou by rail, She sails for Wellington, Taranaki, and Manukau, with the outward San Francisco mail, at 10.30 a.m. tomorrow. The Wellington arrived here at 9 o'clock last night. She left Onehunga at 8-30 a.m. on Wedaesday, and arrived off New Plymouth at 11 p.m. same day;, at 5 a.m. yesterday the surf boat came off, and after landing the passengers, mails, &c, into her, the Wellington proceeded on to Nelson, which was reached as above. She sailed for Picton and Wellington at 9*30 a.m. to-day. She leaves the latter port on a special trip to Nelson at 8 a.m. to-morrow, arriving here in the evening. As return tickets will be issued to excursionists at single fares, available for the return trip until Tuesday, it is probable that a number will take advantage of this opportunity, and pay a visit to Nelson. The Kennedy arrived off the Lighthouse at 1 a.m. to-day, and came into harbor at 5 a.m. She left Nelson on Wednesday, the 18th instant, at 4 p.m , arriving at Westport on the following day at noon; sailed at 9 p m. for Hokitika, arriving there at 5 a.m. on Friday; left at 3 p.m. same day for Greymouth, arriving there at 5*30 p.m ; was detained there until Tuesday to convey the outgoing 'Frisco mail, when the left at 9 a.m., arriving at West port at 8 p.m.; sailed at lo p.m. on Wednesday for Karamea, crossing the bar there at 9 a.m. yesterday; discharged cargo, and left at 10-30 a.m. for Nelson, arriving here as above. Experienced fine weather throughout the passage. The Kennedy sails for Wellington direct at six o'clock this evening.
