MAGISTRATES' COURT.

[Before T. Mackay, A. J. Richmond, and J. Oldhara, Esqs., J.J.P.] Joseph Mallamo was charged with using threatening language to his wife, to the effect that if he caught hold of her he would finish her. Mr Bunny appeared for the defendant. There was a long story of a miserable home and constant erring Jon the part of the wife, evidence being brought to show that the defendant was a quiet, respectable, and hard working man. Case dismissed. Adams and Kingdon v. Daviea.— Action to recover £12 6s 9d, bill of costs. Judgment for amount claimed and costs. Patterson v. Levy — .Judgment summons for £2 Bs. 9d. The defendant, who was called upon to show why he should not be compelled to pay the amout for which judgment was given on the 23rd December, stated that he worked on the wharf and all that he had received for the month of January was £4. 14s. 4d. out which he had to feed ten mouths and to clothe ten bodies. The Bench ordered the amount to be paid in monthly instalments of five shillings.
