The Chairman stated that, he had advanced on; behalf of the County seyeral. payments,.amountingi to £155 7 »s, for ; work on the road from Nelson to ! Westport, and he was requested to make application 1 to the Government for repayment out of the vofcffor that purpose. „.,'., The Chairman stated that the Outlying Districts: Fund was now exhausted, and that the further, sum of £9 17s 9d'was required to meet the- expenditure on the road in the outlying district of Maurigatapu. On the motion of Mr Shephard, seconded by Mr Wells, it was resolved, That a cheque he issued for the amount of £9 17s 9d to supplement the Outlying District Fund, and th t the Chairman be authorised from time to time to employ some competent person to effect and superintend repairs on the roads with- .. in the outlying dfstricts of the County. The Council then proceeded to the allotment of the fund3 at its command to the several Highway Boards.
