So far as the committing of imposition against the public in Euch a case is concerned, the . consequences would not.be serious ; but as the qualities ot, both of the products are in ra'any cssfs directly orpoSed to one another, w^e consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts <•— s ;The eucalyptus oil js recorded to be oi value sb a medicament In cases of rheumatism of secondary nature', and tnanifeets a drawing, blistering effect upon the sMn. 'Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must, increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc.. the' curative power, oi pur extract on tho named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications :in this paper. An application of . the oil instead of pur estract must impair the diseased • • ' „ . iThe truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact tbat the oil is a resi&oud product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and hc-aling in its efftets, its. price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Oiir extract,, the genuine article is enly made up : in half -ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade and .signature.
