PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTBACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage ot U his Majesty tie King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 1 4th March, 1878, We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So farsa the committing of imposition against the public in such a case ii concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the producte are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the pubb'c attention to the following facts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in esses of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, bUttering effect upon the s>in. Any blibtering brought on by the applica tion ot n medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprain?, etc. the curative power of our extract on tbe named dueasea being 1 unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oii instead of our extract must impair the diseased ■ The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinoui product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shininga one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, Bootning and htttling hi its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Oar extract, tbe genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER & SONS, Bole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878. ii. LUCAJT& SON, A G'jE N T S a .F OBN E.L,B QN.
