Wanoanci, Saturday. Tbe good-will of the lease of tbe Rutland Hotel having 3| years to run was sold for £1000 to Frank Kvans of Bulls. Evans also purchased the freehold of property from I W. H. Watt for £8000. j Wellington, Friday. Saturday the 27th instant is gazetted a hank holiday throughout the colony. Napier, Friday. McLennan's trial for murder is concluded the Judge was summing up for 2* hours and the jury were 55 minutes in consultation. The verdict was Not Guilty The prisoner tras discharged but waa immediately rearrested on a charge of forgery on the Bank of New Zealand at Christchurch for £25.
