PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDEB the Distinguished Patronage nl L. his Majesty tbe King of Italy, at Homo, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, et Melbourne, npon instruction-' from tbe Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated Uth Marcb. 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of oor Enc-ah ptus Extract. So fsrastbe committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; bnt ss the qualities of both of the products are in many css-s directly opposed to one another. we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of ▼alue ss a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering tffect upon the skin. Any blistering brought en by the application ot a medicament must increase inflammation, aod it is therefore evident tbat in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, oroup, sprains, etc.. the curative power -of our extract on the named diseases beinp: unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of oar extract must impair the diseased* Tbe truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact tbat the oil is a resinous product equivalent to com iron turpentine, its market ▼alue beiog about three shillings one poun 1 weight ; our extract consists of tbe evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, tbe genuine article is enly made up in half -ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
