EXPECTED ARRIVALS.
Steamer Wellington, from Taranaki and Manukau, to-morrow Steamer Taiaroa, from Picton, Wellington, and South, Dec 6 Steamer Murray, from West Coast, Dec. 6 Schooner Awaroa, from Wanganui
The Lady Barkly sailed for Golden Bay kit night. The Wallace arrived from Wanganui at 1.30 p m. to-day. The Kennedy sails for West; Coast ports at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The Murray is due at Grey mouth from Hokitika to-day. The Lytteltoa sails for Blenheim at 3 p.m. to-morrow. The sailing of the Patea for Patea has been postponed until 6 p.m. to morrow. The Wakatu arrived here this afternoon, having left Wanganui at 11 p m. yesterday. She sails for Wanganui and Wellington at 6 p.m. 'o-morrow. The Wellington leaves Onehunga to-day, will arrive here to morrow night, and sail for Picton and Wellington at 11 a.m. on Friday. The Waitaki arrived at Wellington at 12 o'clock last night. She leaves there for Lyttelton this afternoon. TheTaiaroa leaves here on Saturday for Taranaki and Manukau with the outward San Francisco mail. The schooners Clio and Richard and Mary arrived at Lyttelton from Waitapu on Thursday, the former having made a long passage ot 11 days, and the latter being 7 days on the voyage. The locomotive brought by the Isabella from Lyttelton was successfully landed at the Government Wharf yesterday by means of the shear legs erected there. The Arawata left Melbourne for New Zealand yesterday. According to the time table ahe proceeds to Hobarton, thence to the Bluff and up the East Coast as far as Auckland, returning to Melbourne by the same route She will therefore not call at Nelson this trip. Tbeßiugarooma, instead of the Arawata, will be the bearer of the Suez mail this month with which she will leave Melbourne on the 9th inst., a delay of nearly a week having arisen in the mail leaving England owing to an accident to the steamer. The Claud Hamilton arrived here at 11 a.m. to-day. She left Melbourne on the 18th ultimo, and arrived at Hobarton on the 22nd ; ■ailed at midnight, and arrived at the Bluff at 6.30 p.m. on the 26th, having experienced • heavy S.E gale between the two latter ports. Called at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Wellington, leaving the latter port at 11 JjMD. yesterday, and arriving here as above. The Claud Hamilton sails for Melbourne via West Coast ports and Newcastle at 10 p.m The Rotomahana has proved herself to be a fast vessel under Bteam, and she is equally as apeedy under canvas. On her last voyage from Sydney she experienced a cyclone, which she could not face, and had to be pot before it, under Btorm canvas The steam was cut down to 8 knots speed. but despite this the apeed of the vessel, driven by the gale, surpassed her best efforts In smooth water under full steam, she having made 17 knots per hour, running clean away from, her screw action.
