The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay last night. The Ocean Bird arrived from Greymouth this morning witb a load of coal for Messrs. N. Edwards and Co. The Taiaroa sailed for Taranaki and Manukau at 7.20 p.m. yesterday, and arrived off the former port this morning. The Murray leaves Greymouth to-morrow and Westport on Monday, arriving here on Tuesday. The Kennedy leaves for West Coast porls at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The Wallace arrived from Wanganui this afternoon. She proceeds to Wellington direct on Monday at 5 p.m. The Lyttelton leaves Blenheim for Wellington to-day. The Wakatu steamed down to tbe Commercial Wharf this morning, and was placed on the cradle, where she will be cleaned and painted externally. She will make a trial trip shortly. The Croydon Lass, laden with potatoes from Kaiapoi, should arrive here to-morrow. The Waitaki leaves Wellington on Monday afternoon, will arrive here on Tuesday morning, and sail for Picton, Wellington, and South by the same tide at 11 a m. H.M.S. Emerald, about the safety of which fears were entertained, arrived at Sydney from Auckland on Thursday last after a long passage. A change has taken place in the pursership of the Arawata, Mr Millar, who has been purser of her ever since she came to «*• colonies, having joined the Rotomahana, the "crack" steamer or me fleet. m« place bas been filled by Mr Birch, who formerly held a similar position on board the Tararua. The Arawata arrived in harbor at 8.45 a.m. to-day. She left Melbourne at 3.30 p.m. on the Bth, and arrived at tbe Bluff at 6 pm. on the 12th; sailed at 5.15 p.m. on the 13th, and reached Port Chalmers at 5 45 am. on the 14tb; left at 4.45 p.m. same day, and arrived at Lyttelton at 8 a.m. ou the 15th; sailed at 4.10 p.m., and reached Wellington at 5.20 sun. on the 16th; making a capital run from Lyttelton wharf to Wellington wharf in 13} hours ; left at 830 p.m. yesterday, and arrived here aa above. The Arawata sailed for Wellington, South, and Melbourne, with the outward Suez mail, by the same tide at 10 a.m.
