The Clio left Lyttelton for Waitapu on "Wednesday. The Dido arrived at Wellington from Kaiapoi on Tnesday afternoon. The Harmodius has commenced discharging. Her cargo appears to be in good condition. The Murray arrived at Hokitika this morning. She leaves there to-morrow and Greymoath on Sunday. The Wallace leaves Wanganui to-night, "will arrive here to-morrow, and proceed to Wellington direct on Monday afternoon. The Waitaki arrived in harbor at 7 30 today, having left Taranaki at 1 p ra. yesterday. She sailed for Picton and Wellington by the same tide at 10 a.m. The Arawata leaves Wellington at eight o'clock to-night, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Wellington, South, and Melbourne by the same tide at 10 a.m. The Kennedy arrived in harbor at 6.30. a.m. to-day. She left here at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, and after getting through the French Pass, experienced a S.E. gale, which increased in violence, so much so that when the steamer arrived at Jackson's Head she vras unable to get round, and was compelled to come to an anchor at Guard's Bank at 2 a.m. She remained there until 9 a.m., 'when Bhe got under way again, and steamed through the gale, arriving at Wellington at 10 p.m.; sailed at 6.30 p.m. yesterday, and arrived here as above. During the gale the Kennedy behaved admirably, although the fore part of her was frequently under water. The Kennedy sails for West Coast ports at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Taiaroa arrived here at 3 a.m. to-day. She left Port Chalmers at 3 p.m. on Sunday, And reached there at 9*30 a.m. on Monday ; sailed at 11 p.m. with the Suez mail, which bad been forwarded overland from the Bluff, and arrived at Wellington at 330 p.m. on Tuesday j left at 4-30 p.m. yesterday, and was at Pictoo by 8-55 p.m. ; sailed at midnight, and arrived here as above. The Taiaroa made a splendid run between Wellington and Picton, having accomplished the distance in under 4J hours. She is in- splendid fettle, and Newcastle coal was used during the passage, which accounts for her making such a quick run. The Taiaroa B&ila for Taranaki and Manukau at 7 p.m.
