London, October 10. Agrarian disturbances are extending in Ireland, and one regiment of cavalry and two battalions of infantry have been sent there on account of the disturbed state of the country. Count Schouvaloif has returned to his post as Russian Ambassador at London. The Union Bank announces a loan of ,£50,000 for the completion of Christchurch Cathedral. St. Peteesbubgii, October 10. A large fire has occurred at Riga which destroyed the Government Buildings and forty houses. The ciuse is unknown. Calcutta, October 10. General Roberts was before Cabul on the eighth. General Massey wa3 detached to cut off the retreat of the enemy. He captured 78 guns.
