To the Editor op tub 'Evening Mail.' Sir— Your correspondent "8.," in condemning Captain Edwin's warnings about the weather, seem 3to me rather too decisive. He states that •• their fulfilment is quite exceptional, and that they are issued either too late or too early." For my own part, and from what I have heard from the public in general, I think we could say the reverse, that is, their non-fulfilment is quite exceptional, and as to being either too late or too early, must we (mariners especially) wait until bad weather comes to be warned against it? But I consider that when he says, •• Bad weather approaching; watch barometer;" he cannot be accased of giving the warning too soon to be of practical use either to mariners or to land-lubbers. — I am, &c, G.
