PARLIAMENTARY.
Wellington, Friday night. Mr Tole gave notice to move that all libraries in the Colony be supplied with Hantard and Parliamentary Papers. In reply to Mr Saunders' question re the Whitmore-Ingles telegram, Mr Fisher said that Colonel Whitmore'a message should be sent as a private one and charged in the ordinary way. In reply to Mr Dick, Mr Macandrew said that the police had been instructed to keep watch over representations of an immoral tendency in Dunedin, and to enforce the provisions of the old statutes which provided for such cases. A number of Bills were read the first time, including the Representation, Triennial Parliaments, &c. Sir George Grey moved in complimentary terms that Mr Seymour be appointed Chairman of Committees. This was seconded by Mr Hall and carried unanimously. A number of sessional Committees were appointed. On Sir G«orge Grey moving the adjournment of the House, Mr Hall asked when the ~aa..00 i tt rop iy wou id be moved, as he had an amendment to move..and his qarty were anxious to take the division upon it at 0000 if necessary. In order that the Government should not be taken by snrprise he would inform them what the amendment would be. [The amendment will be found in our correspondent's telegram.] Wellington, Friday night, [From a correspondent.] The Opposition calculate upon 44 certain votes which gives them a majority, and a few donbtful men are likely to join. Mr Hall told the Government that he was prepared to take the division to-night, but for Borne unknown reason the Government have put off opening the debate until Tuesday. The Opposition are going to move an addition to the address in reply to the following effect : — " Whilst, however, we are prepared to give effect to the Liberal measurea desired by the country, we feel bound to submit to your Excellency that your Excellency's Government as at present constituted does not possess the confidence of this House."
