NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage ol U his Majeaty the Kiog of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Conaul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious; bat as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be oi value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect qpon the sVin. Any blistering brought c n by the application of a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in caiesof wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power iot our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of tba oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The (ruth of oar assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to comuon turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract cotsists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its efftcts, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER & SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November,; 1878. R. LUCAS~& SON, AGENTS FOB NB.LSON
