MAGISTRATES' COURT.
[Before J. R. Dodson, A. J. Richmond, and T. Mackay, Esqs., J.J.P.] Blanchett v. Powell.— Action to recover £15 on an 1.0.U. Mr Atkinson appeared for the plaintiff. Mr Pitt, for the defendant, asked that time might be allowed. Judgment for amount claimed, to be paid within three months, and costs £2 68. Moller v. Miller.— Claim for £2 7s 6d for goods supplied Judgment for amount claimed and costs. 1 SINGULAR RESULT OF SERVING A SUMMONS, Hingston v. Kemp. — Action to recover £1 15s for goods supplied. Defendant did not appear. The Bench asked the plaintiff whether he was willing to grant time. Plaintiff replied, "Yea, under the circumstances, as immediately after the summons was served defendant's wife had had twins." Judgment for amount claimed, to be paid in three monthly instalments.
