The Kennedy arrived at Westport at eight o'clock this morning. The Wallace sailed for Wangauui at three o'clock this afternoon. The T. B. Taylor arrived at Wellington from Nelson on Sunday. The Lyttelton arrived at Blenheim at six o'clock this morning. She returns to Nelson direct. The Patea is expected to arrive here from Patea to-morrow, and leave on the return trip on Thursday. The Wanganni leaves Wellington at 10 a.m. to-morrow, will arrive here in the evening, and sail for Westport and Greymouth on Thursday. The owners of tbe Hydrabad being unable to agree as to what shall be done with her, she will be eold by auction at Wellington shortly. Tbe Charles Edward's position was much improved this morning, notwithstanding tbe rery heavy sea breaking on the bar. It is hoped she will come off in another tide or two. Tbe Taiaroa arrived at Onehunga at 8 30 a.m. to-day, in plenty of time to catch the mail steamer, which leaves Auckland for Honolulu at 3 p.m. She leaves on the downward trip to-morrow. Tbe Waitalri arrived in harbor at 8-45 a.m. to day, having left Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday, and Picton at midnight. She brings a large cargo. The Waitaki sails for Picton and Wellington at 5 p m. Tbe New Zealand Steam Shipping Company's fleet of steamers were to be sold by auction at Wellington this afternoon. They comprise the Rangatira, Mauawatu, Stormbird, and Jane Douglas. Tbe mad flats about two miles above the • bar in the Wanganui river are reported to be getting worse as tbe reclamation works in the town progress, and only steamers of the lightest draught can now go up to the wharves without touching tbe ground. Tbe Arawata, witb tbe Suez mail, arrived at the Bluff at 7.15 a.m. to-day. She only comes as far as Wellington, returning from thence to Port Chalmers, where she will be placed in the dock for the purpose of being cleaned and painted. The Nelson portion of the mail will probably be brought here by the Waitaki on Friday.
