NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDEIt tbe Distinguished Patronage ol U his Majesty the King of Itnly, at Eome, according to communication received from tbe Consul-General for Italy, nt Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated Uth Marcb, 1878. We are informed that dealers fn medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eueal.vptus Extract. Fo far as tbe committing of imposition against the public in such a cane is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cams directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following factß :— The eucalyptus oil is recorJed to re ol value aa a medicament in cages of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the sHn. Any blistering brought < n by the application of a medicament must increase infiamtniition, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprain*, etc.. the curative power of I our extract on tbe named dieses being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the cil instead of our cxtrsct must impair the diseased . Tbe iruth of our assertion in founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to com it on turpentine, its market i value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, eootbing and healing in ita effects, its price beicg twenty-four shillings for one pound weight Our extract, tbe genuine article is enly made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; rials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signatnre.
