The Wallace arrived from Wanganui yesterday tnorning. The Lyttelton leaves Wellington for Blonbeim to-day. The Torea arrived from Dnrville's Island last night. The cutter Dart is advertised to sail for Collingwood on Wednesday. The Patea arrived from Patea early this morning. She returns to the same port at 3 p.m. to-morrow. The Wellington sailed for Taranaki and Mannkau at 540 p.m. on Saturday, and arrived at the latter port this morning. The steward »i the Chaudiere was sentenced to four weeks imprisonment at Wellington on Saturday last for desertion. The ketch Thames, which has not been here for some time past, put in an appearance yesterday afternoon from Pelorus Sound with 15 cords of firewood. The Kennedy arrived from Wellington at 9 30 a.m. yesterday, having left there at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday. Fine weather was experienced across the Straits. She sails for West Coast ports at noon to-morrow. The Charles Edward left Greymouth yesterday, but was unable to get into Hokitika till this morning. She reports the bar very dangerous. The Waitaki leaves Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Picton and Wellington by the same tide at 9 30 a.m. The Murray was placed on the cradle opposite the Anchor Foundry at high water this morning for the purpose of undergoing an overhaul. This, it is expected, will occupy three or four weeks. The barque Tasso is now engaged in running timber to the Bluff. Her old master, Captain Moulton, is now in charge of a fine vowel of over 700 tons register.
