CITY ELECTION.
THE NOMINATION. Considering the inconvenience of the hour there was a fair attendance of electors as well as of ladies at the Provincial Hall today. Mr Baddeley, the Returning Officer, having read the writ, stated that he was prepared to receive nominations, whereupon Dr Irvine proposed, and Mr W. Akersten seconded, Mr Oswald Curtis as a fit and proper person for the representation of the City. Mr Sclanders proposed, and Mr Moutray seconded, Mr Acton Adams. Mr A. Robertson proposed, and Mr Bond seconded, Mr John Graham. Mr Haddow proposed, and Mr Levestam seconded, Mr Albert Pitt. There being no further nominations, the several candidates addressed the electors, and a show ot hands was then taken, with the following result: — Pitt 52 Adams ... ... 50 Curtis ... ... ... 25 Graham ... ... is The proceedings terminated with a vote of thanks to the Iteturning Officer.
