The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay this morning. The Lyttelton leaves Blenheim for Wellington to-day. The Wallace left for Wanganui at 2 p.m. to-day. The Kennedy arrived at Wellington at 4 o'clock this morning. Mr Redwood's steam yacht Torea arrived here from Blenheim at six o'clock last night. The Charles Edward left for Westport last evening, and may be expected there, and leave again for Greymouth this evening. The Wanganui sailed for West Coast ports at 4-30 p.m. yesterday. If the bar is workabe she will proceed to Greymouth. The Wellington leaves Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Taranaki and Manukau at 5 p.m. A survey has been made on the CanDy Scot, but all efforts to discover the cause of her leaking proved futile, and as she is not making any water now she will be ballasted and proceed to Newcastle, where she will be placed on the slip. The Directors of the New Zealand Shipping Company have decided to alter the rig of their ships to barques. The Union Company will run three or four of their best steamers to Sydney next month. The one to proceed there in time for the opening of the Exhibition will be the Bingarooma, which leaves Wellington for Sydney via East Coast ports on September 6th. On her return trip she will come airecc io nei»i«,. r The Taiaroa is reported to be having an extensive alteration made in her bridge, which is being carried along to the poop, thereby filling up an unsightly gap, which greatly detracted from her appearance, and gave her a curious look. She returns to Wellington about the 12th of next month, and will take up the Wellington's running, ■which steamer proceeds to Port Chalmers for an overhaul.
