The Colorado beetle has appeared at Cork. The Government Bill limiting Bank shareholders' liability to twice the amount of paid-up capital has been read the second time. The Warwickshire miners wages have been reduced ten per cent. The Nottingham cricketers will visit America. The Marquis of Hartington in the House of Commons, deprecated any attempt on the part of the Liberals to force abolition of capital punishment. Mr Chamberlain amid ironical cheers said that Lord Hartington was no longer the leader of the whole party, but only of a section. j Large tracts of land have been flooded in Derbyshire and Yorkshire. Three hundred Bradford engineers on strike will emigrate to America. Tne Orange celebration in Ireland passed off with only a few cases of stoning and shooting. One person was killed. The foreign immigration to New York is 4,000 weekly. A fire in Hamilton, Canada, caused a loss of half a million dollars. The yellow fover bas broken out at Memphis and the inhabitants are fleeing in thousands. The Chilian army was defeated by the Peruvians at Colonia with terrible loss. Cholera is spreading among the British troops in India. Twenty vessels were lost m a hurricane in the Adrian sea. A powder millin California exploded killing nine men and wounding forty. The shock was felt for twenty miles.
