Tbe Lady Barkly sailed for Golden Bay .bis morning. The Arawata leaves the Bluff for Melbourne to-morrow afternoon whh the Suez mail. The Helen Denny arrived at Port Chalmers from London on Friday last. The Marmioo ia being ballasted with shingle from the schooner May, and will probably get to sea to _m>rrow. The Wallace arrived at Wanganui fcarly this morning. She is expected back tomorrow, and sails again for Wanganui on Friday. The Kennedy leaves Westport at S p.m. to-day. She -will arrive here to-morrow morning, aad sail for Wellington at 4 p.m. The Charles Edwart arrived from West Coast ports this ttiorning. She returns there *t 7 o'clock to-morrow evening. The o_nny Scot has been placed on the Boulder Bank, where an attempt will be _na<i- to discover the cause of her leaking. The Wellington arrived in harbor at 130 ».m. to-day. She left Wellington at 3 a.m. yesterday, and reached Picton at 930 a m. ; sailed at 1030 a.m., and after staying three hours at the French Pass arrive'd here as above. The Wellington sailed for Picton and Wellington at 2-15 p.m. The City of Sydney with the San J-rancisco mail, arrived at Auckland last night. The Waitaki, with the Southern portion of the mails, left Onehunga at 5 30 a.m. to-day. She will probably land tbe mails at New Plymouth to-night, and arrive here to-morrow morning. She sails for Picton and Wellington at 3 p m. The Wanganui is expected to arrive here from Wellington and South to-morrow morning, and sail for Westport and Greymouth tbe. Eame day at 4 p.m. Tha steamer Pengoin, the latest addition to the Union Companv 's fleet has taken up her running on the East Coast under tbe charge of Captain Malcolm. She is described as a handsome vessel, built by Messrs Todd and M'Gregor, of Glasgow, in 1864, and although 15 years oid, so faithfully has she been constructed tbat she will compare with steamers of recent build. Her engines, she has two, are surface condensing low pressure, of 180 horse-power nominal, and propel the steamer along at the rate of 13 knots per hour. The saloon is magnificently fitted up, and in addition to the usual state cabins there are three " bridal chambers."
