PUKE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage of U his Majesty tbe King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction, from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated Hth March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of itupositu n against the public in such a case is concerned, tha consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of tbe products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it onr duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oii is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, bliateriw. effect upon the s v in. Any blistering brought rn by the implication ot a medicament must increase irflnmmation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, Oroup, sprains, etc.. the curative power of our extract on the named diseases bein? unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact tbat the oil is a resinous product equivalent to comtcon turpentine,, its market talue being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract Cor aiits of the evaporating particles of the gnm' leaves, soothing and healing in Us effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound wei^bt. Our extract, the genuine article Is r n.y made ! up in half -ounce and orie-oui.de vf«»_ } vials bearing on the labels our trade mark arid signature. i SANDER & SQNS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus. „ • Extract. ..}. -. • Sandhurst, Sovembe»/,_B.s.
