PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT UNI'ER the Distinguished Patronage ol his Msjeety the King of Italy, st Borne, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, st Melbourne, upon instruction- from tie Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil ound in~ the trade instead of our Kucab ptus Extract. So far as tbe committing of imposition against ; the public in such a cbkc is concerned, the consequences would not bs serious ; but as - the qualities of both of the products are in many cjs^s directly opposed to one another, we consirier it our duty to direct the public attention to the following f icts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to lie of value as a medicament in caees of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a " drawing, blistering effect upon the sin. Any blistering brought ( n by the application of a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, ' croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power ol^ our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. . The truth of cur assertion i= founded upon the fact that the oil is a iesinous product equivalent to comp on turpentine, its market valuf bdog about three shillings one pound weight ; our txtrsct cocsi-ts of theey«ppr?;ating particles of the gum leaves, e coining and healing in its tfl.cta, its price/ being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight, .. Our extract, tbe genuine article is only made up in half 'Ounce and one-ounce vials ; vwla bearing on the labels our trade mark and' signature.
