PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage of %J his Majesty tbe Ring of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruction' from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalt ptus Extract. So far as the cemmittiog of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, tha consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cs ses directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to tbe following facts : — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the sli in.' Any blistering brought rn by the application of a medicament must increase inflammation, acd it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheriacroup, 6prain., etc.. the curative power of i our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the 6tt> instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion ie founded upon the fact tbat the oil is a resinous product equivalent to comr. on turpentine, its market valae being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing' 1 and healing in its effects, its price being 1 twenty -fonr .'shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in half -ounce and on .-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark And signature.
