JONES'S, BOOKSELLER AND STATIONER, &c Trafalgar-street, Nelson. 1858 NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTBACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage of U his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received ftom the Consul-General for Italy, st Melbourne, upon instruction-*- from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated Hth March, 1378. We are informed that dealers in medlcittd often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of onr Eacalvptas Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in snch a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are iv many esses directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to tfae following facts :— ' The eucalyptus ofl is recorded to be of value as a medicament In cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests ai drawing, blistering effect npon the sli in. Any blistering brought on by the application ot a medicament must increase inffom,-. mation. and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtfaerla, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power pf our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of tho oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. Tbe troth of our assertion is founded opon the fact that the eil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market ▼alue being ahout three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gnm leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weighfc Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in half -ounce and one-ounce vials j vutls bearing on the labels onr trade matkand signature. .
