The Charles Edward is still a prisoner at Hokitika. The Wallace leaves for Wanganui at 6 o'clock this evening. The Kennedy arrived at Wellington at Are o'clock this morning, and leaves on the trip to-morrow evening. The Lyttelton left Blenheim this morning, and may be expected to arrive here tomorrow morning. The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay last night. She reports sighting the Murray steaming towards Totaranui yesterday afternoon. The Dido sailed for Patea last night, the Kennedy having towed ber to sea. She will make another attempt to work the Patea bar, and we hope this' time tbat she will be successful. The Arawata' leaves Wellington at nine o'clock to-night, will arrive here to morrow morning, and sail at noon on Sunday for Wellington, South, and Melbourne, witb the outward Suez mail. The barque Vindex, from Newcastle, has been signalled all tbe day, but, owing to tbe strong S.W. wind blowing, had not reached the outer anchorage up to tbe time of our going to press. She will be towed into harbor to-morrow morning. The Taiaroa, with the Suez mail, arrived from Picton and Wellington this morning, and sails for Taranaki and Manukau at 2 p.m. to-morrow. A portion of the Wakatipu'a cargo arrived by the Taiaroa to-day, but by far the greater part will reach here by tbe Arawata tomorrow. The schooner Clio, whicb left here nearly a fortnight ago for Greymouth, was lying at Totaranui yesterday afternoon. Twice •he had rounded the Spit, and on one occasion got as far as Bock's Point, but meeting with strong head winds and heavy sea she was compelled to torn tail and seek refuge on this side of the spit. The Wellington left New Plymouth for Nelson at S-30 a.m. to-day. She was unable to communicate with New Plymouth, and consequently will bring tbe passengers and cargo on to Nelson, where they will be transhipped into the Taiaroa. The Wellington will arrive here to-night, aad sail for Picton and Wellington by the same tide at 1 1 p.m.
